To provide some context on the academy, CIO's play some of the most challenging roles in businesses today, with responsibilities in driving growth and value beyond traditional IT support and delivery. Deloitte Canada's Next Generation CIO Academty is premised on ensuring nominated individuals for future CIO roles across vast array of organizations are prepared for this shift from IT leader to Business leader. Future CIO's got together at Deloitte Canada's Workplace of the Future in the heart of Toronto's Financial District for 2.5 days of intense coursework facilitated by C-Suite executives, industry leaders, and Senior Deloitte practitioners. Participants went through immersive training including: speaker presentations, panels, case studies and small team sessions.
The curriculum of the program is designed to develop and sharpen participants skills related to influence (learning how to build strong teams and influence business decisions), value (discovering smart ways to partner with a business and drive change for overall performance improvement), and credibility (how to demonstrate competence and garner trust through superior performance).
I had the pleasure of serving as an onsite IoT SME for the Tech Fair at the Academy, speaking to executives across some notably large organizations in Financial Services, Oil & Gas, and Energy industries about IoT use cases relevant to their business and showcasing Deloitte Canada's in house capabilities. We also showcased our other specialties at the Tech Fair including: Blockchain, ServiceNow, Connected Bank, Data Analytics, Digital, and more.
