The proliferation of digital wealth management players has increased price competition for traditional advisors, who are finding it increasingly important to justify their value to investors. While a low-fee model is desirable for the mass-market investor, a greater number of fintechs are targeting wealthy investors with a similar value proposition. As these offerings continue to develop, it will be interesting to see what features high-end investors are attracted to, and if a similar low-fee model can be effective when applied upmarket.
