Mobile payments will be a hot topic at Money 2020 (no surprises there), and a lot of conversations will focus on why, even after being a really nifty and elegant user experience, Apple Pay is still struggling to get scaled adoption 2 years in. If you want my take, it's in the value add - there is nothing now for customers to adopt mobile payments over card/plastic. It isn't solving any business problem and the customer doesn't feel that the current experience is broken. So, I want a buck off my coffee once in a while, and earn a small multiplier on my points when I use my mobile over plastic - that's my opinion.
